  • The Japanese wanted to expand their territory so they were going to take over China and Indonesia.
  • FDR/"Date which will live in infamy"
  • The U.S. was one of the primary carriers for the Japanese to get their oil and steel so trying to take over China and Indonesia risked their trading relationship with America.
  • Internment Camps
  • Japan bombed Pearl Harbor as a surprise attack to neutralize the threat that they thought the Pearl Harbor base was.
  • After the War
  • President Franklin Roosevelt made a speech after Pearl Harbor was bombed during this speech he announced that America was joining the war.
  • Japanese-Americans were forced to go into internement camps after the bombing of Pearl Harbor.
  • The American soldiers didn't all blame the Japanese soldiers because they were just following orders and doing what they thought was right.
