Saul was the son of Kish from the tribe of Benjamin. Saul was a young and handsome man compared to many men of Israel. He was taller than many people.
Kish asked Saul to take a servant and find lost donkeys.
Getting to the land of Zuph, Saul told his servant that he was ready to return home as they did not locate the donkeys. The servant told Saul that there is a seer in the city and perhaps he can tell them where the animals are. After a discussion about what to bring as a gift to the seer, they decided to bring a “fourth of a shekel of silver.”
