  • Hi I'm Jimmy, I am your fellow scientist leading you on about the Solar System. We are going to discover the relationships between the Moon, Sun and Earth.
  • As you can see the sun is projecting on one half of the earth and the moon is projecting on the other half. That is why we have morning and night. The earth rotates during the 24 hours of our day.
  • Did you know that the sun is the hottest planet in the Solar System?, Also Earth is the 3rd the closest planet to the sun whereas the moon is orbiting around earth.
  • Do you know what earth, sun and the moon is made up of, well you are going to find out right now? Earth- Earth is made up of silicon, iron, magnesium, oxygen, aluminium, whereas the crust is made up of calcium, sodium, potassium and magnesium. The earth has a rocky surface called the crust which is made up of mostly oxygen that we breathe through. Moon- Like earth, the moon has boasted of crusts inside the moon. The moon may have a solid crust but really the moon has a liquid iron surface on the outside. did you know that the outer liquid surface can extend up to 310 miles? Sun-  the sun is a huge hot glowing sphere that is made of magnesium, hydrogen, nitrogen, sulfur, neon, iron, helium and silicon.
  • Sun: *The sun brightens our day *If your even 5 metres away you will get really badly  burnt * every planet in the solar system orbits the sun * The sun is made of lava as well as all the other scientific chemicals
  • Moon: * Shines brightly at night * the moon gives us light at night *The moon is a star Neil Armstrong walked on the moon *Moon orbits the earth *The moon is sometimes eclipsed around the earth *The moon affects the tide in the ocean * Moon has different stages during the week
  • Similarities and Differences:
  • Similarities: *They are in the solar system *They are not exactly round *They are included in solar and lunar eclipses *They all have atmospheres *They all contain Magnesium *They are in the same Galaxy
  • Earth: * Only planets that have people living on it today * Earth is 3rd from the Sun * Earth has different temperatures, hot & cold * Gravity is on earth that is why we are standing otherwise we would be flying. * Earth has it's own ozone layer *Earth has an atmoshere
  • The earth will be endangered if we do not look after the Solar System.
