It'a the first day of school in a school in Fresno. The characters are Victor, Teresa, and Mr. Bueller
Victor wants Teresa to be his girlfriend.
At the end of first period, he tries to linger to say something clever to Teresa, but he actually said something he didn’t mean to.
I am going to like 7th grade.
The climax of the story is when he says, “I know french,” but he doesn’t, so the spotlight is on him and he ends up just saying, “Frenchie oh wewe gee in September.” Luckily, Mr. Bueller doesn’t rat him out.
After class, Teresa tells Victor that it's really cool that he speaks french and asks him if he could help her with her french sometime, and Victor obviously says yes.
The resolution is that Victor gets 3 french textbooks and says, “I am going to like 7th grade.”
