  • I am the new leader of the nation!
  • On February 26th, 1815, Napoleon and 1,000 loyalists traveled across the Mediterranean to Golfe-Juan because they were exiled from Elba due to losing against an allied army.
  • The people of France hoped he would return the day he left . They were thrilled when he came back and many joined him in helping him regain his power.
  • Napoleon declared himself the leader of the nation when he returned and took control of the French army.
  • He gathered up the army and made a plan to fight the armies that caused for him to be exiled from Elba before they got to him first.
  • Napoleon's army suffered from heavy casualties, but were able to drive the Prussians back.
