- Also want the republican party to become one of the powerful institutions in the south
- Congressional Reconstruction Act of 1867
- 3 states joined back into the union Arkansas, Louisiana, and Tennessee
- Con:Would betray and go back on promise.
- Impeached the current president Andrew Jackson
- I swear under the oath of allegiance that i will ally with the union
- Proclamation of Amnesty (10% Plan)
- I will only allow the south an opportunity to rejoin the union only after 10% of their voters allied with the union.(swore under an oath)
