  • EXPOSITION
  • CONFLICT
  • RISING ACTION
  • Elie is in a ghetto to start off in the beginning. He tries warning everyone what he witnessed but nobody believed him. They were told that they would go to a camp and be taken care of until the end of the war. But that was not the case.
  • CLIMAX
  • Getting at the first camp they separated him and his mother/sister. They saw the crematorium and were upset, but the men that spoke to him helped them out by them lying about their age. Their trip to hell started here.
  • FALLING ACTION
  • They had been living in awful conditions for the past weeks and they are starting to feel the pain of labor. The harsh conditions performed by them were way to much but they kept up. Elieś heel was not agreeing with him after working on it 24/7/
  • RESOLUTION
  • They were evacuated to another camp after being attacked by the French resistance. Elie ran 20 kilometers along with other prisoners and his father. They made it and Elies father was on the verge of death but Elie fought as long as his father was alive.
  • His father was dying with dysentery. He no longer cared if he died or not. He gave up, he could no longer help his father. He basically witnessed him die without a doubt. The last night he slept he remembered his father saying "elie, help me!¨
  • He is set free by the resistance and is desperately looking for food.  He is literally skin and bones. He no longer has the strength to move. He is tired and worn down to the last bit. But he survives.
