You are traveling 300 miles up a large river in Africa to claim more land for the glory of France.
You are 50 miles into your journey and come across a waterfall and the only thing to do is take the boat apart and unload the supplies then reload once you get up top.
The process takes several days and you finally make it up top and reload and put your boat back together. After about a mile the boat comes to a sudden and complete stop on the sandbar
You slowly make you way past this section and then reload your boat.
A huge set of rapids has moved sand into the river and which has now caused slow moving waters. You have no choice but to disassemble your boat and move around.
You disassembled your boat and after only 3 weeks of travel you have only moved 30 miles up the river
