- Giving birth greatly affects the mothers body which means they go through many physical changes including severe back pain as a result of carrying a baby for 9 months.
- Having a newborn baby often means they wake up during their sleep and must be swaddled back to bed. This can disrupt the sleep of the mother causing emotional changes often including fatigue, tiredness and a shortened temper.
- Mothers are often faced with many social changes after giving birth as their priorities change to accommodate the needs and care of their baby so they cannot go out with friends and have reduced social interactions.
