The Hemostasis phase is a natural process that stops blood when an injury occurs. This phase acts as platelets which are like microscopic circulating band-aids.
The Inflammation phase is when damaged cells, pathogens, and bacteria are removed from the wound area. This stage is the body's natural response to the injury. Inflammation is like a chemical storm in which special chemicals that signal the immune system are released at the site of infection.
The repair phase is the complete restoration of healthy function to the injured area, and may take as long as 7 - 21 days after your injury. This process is like renovating a broken house. Once the bacteria (trash) is all out, construction workers and carpenters can start working on fixing it up.
