Storyboard Text

  • Where is my family?
  • We almost went on without you Mrs.Hutchinson. We almost went on without you Mrs.Hutchinson.
  • In the beginning of The Lottery, Tessie can't find her family.  She then realizes that it's lottery day, and leaves to find them.
  • We almost went on without you Mrs.Hutchinson.
  • I wonder who will win the lottery this year, I hope it's not me!
  • Tessie finds her family, and the rest of the town all gathered together.  The children are getting the rocks ready, and then the husbands pick the pieces of paper.  Her husband picks the one with the black dot, and she ends up winning the lottery.
  • It's not fair! It isn't fair!
  • We almost went on without you Mrs.Hutchinson. We almost went on without you Mrs.Hutchinson.
  • Tessie claims that it wasn't fair, and Mr.Summers didn't give him enough time to pick.  Even though she really doesn't want to, she ends up getting pelted with rocks for their annual superstition.  The lesson/theme The Lottery is trying to portray, is that even if you don't want to do something, you should do it for the better.
