In June 1956, Poland decided to revolt against the Soviet Union. Due to unfair economics and rights. A crowd of 100,000 people gathered in the city centre near the local Ministry of Public Security. About 400 tanks and 10,000 soldiers fired at civilians. This was called the Poznan.
Poland's Communist controlled army overtook the Soviet Union. The battle only lasted 7 years but the actual fighting lasted around 4 years. The US lasted around 44 years.
Wladyslaw Gomulka was released from prison and became the head of Poland's Communist Party. Poland is said to have to have won control over its own economy while remaining loyal to the Warsaw Pact.
