  • WE ARE FREE!!!!
  • Yeah! But know what?
  • Abraham Lincoln passes the 14th Amendment.
  • The 14th Amendment states that all the people living in the United State, that were both here, are citizens. If you were not born in the US then you must become naturalized by passing a test about this country. This includes freedman.
  • Since we both were not born in the US, we need to become citizens.
  • I agree, but how will we do that?
  • I'm not sure, but maybe we can ask someone. But who?
  • What about Master John?
  • Hey Master John, Me and Billy wanted to know how do we become a citizen.
  • Well Richard, you need to take a test about this country because if you are going to be living here then you need to know about this country.
  • Later that same month Richard and Billy decide to take the citizenship test.
  • I can't believe it Billy!!!!!!
  • I know Richard!! We are US citizens!
