Storyboard Text

  • Approach to inmost cave
  • the supreme ordeal/final conflict
  • The reward
  • The Approach to the inmost cave was when Perseus enters the gorgons lair. This is the "dark moment" because he is in danger of getting caught and slain. There are three gorgons two of which are immortal and Perseus must choose which is the mortal.
  • The Road Back
  • The supreme ordeal or final conflict was when Perseus cuts off the right gorgons head (Medusa). This is the supreme moment because this conflict is the biggest in the passage. This is because Perseus couldn't figure out which to slay so Athena guided Perseus to the right gorgon then Medusa was slain. Perseus was then followed by a quick pursuer but his lightning sandals were to fast for them.
  • The Resurrection (Atonement)
  • The reward Perseus is gifted from this journey is medusa's irresistable head. This reward will prove a great gift for Polydectes. But little did Perseus know he was sent not to grant a gift but to die. He then comes back with the head and finds out the real reason he was sent to slay medusa and take her head Perseus then uses the head to turn Polydectes to stone.
  • Return With The Elixir
  • The road back had one more challenge for Perseus. He was not yet done with monsters. Because, on his way back he ran into a monster that was about to devour the lovely Andromeda.
  • The moment of resurrection was when Perseus  puts Medusa's head on the table. This shows Polydectes he had survived the challenge and avoided death. Polydectes is then turned to stone and punished for his selfish actions.
  • The Return With Elixir is when Perseus throws a discuss but it is caught by the wind. This discuss lands and hits King Acrisius. This seals his fate and proves the oracle's prediction was correct.
