The Nile is about 1,160 miles long! But only about 600 miles are in Eygpt.
The Nile was seen as a gateway to heaven and was often painted on tombs because the Egyptians believed that the painting would come to life.
The Nile was a mass highway for the ancient Egyptians. Merchants would travel on a boat to trade in other cities. Boats could carry livestock, goods, and building supplies if they were building a large temple or pyramid.
Every year the Nile would flood making the ground very fertile and good for planting crops. Our seasons were based around the Nile.
