I will prove fate wrong and I will save myself and my father!!
At the beginning of Mordred's life, King Arthur sent him and many other babies out to sea to kill them. He did this because not only was Mordred the product of incest but because Merlin prophecized that Arthur would one day be killed by Mordred.
Mordred Finds Merlin
After surviving Mordred grew up with King Loth. When Arthur learns of Mordred's survival he says he will not stop Mordred from coming to Camelot. Once Mordred arrives Arthur welcomes him and eventually makes him a knight, but all he wants is for King Arthur to call him son.
The Final Battle
I don't care anymore. DIE
Why does he not call me son?
In an attempt to change his fate Mordred goes on a quest with Arthur's blessing. He journeys to find answers and in this quest, he visits from his fishermother, the lady of the lake, and Morgan le Fay he feels he cannot find the answers he needs without finding Merlin.
I am here for as long as you have need of me
Mordred! My son!!
After finding a bird in a cage Mordred feels bad for it and frees it. In doing so he unknowingly releases Merlin who then kills Nyneve who was Mordred's greatest friend and was also part of his dog Gull who also dies. Merlin then gives Mordred a vision of the day he and Arthur die. At this moment Mordred belives he cant change fate.
NO GULL! DONT DIE!
Now that I am free I kill the one who bested me. But since you released me I will show you your fate
After returning to Camelot he expresses to Arthur that he has not found a way and that at this point he wants to keep whats left of his soul safe. He then asks Arthur to be the one to keep his soul, but a bird takes it. Eventually, the battle comes and Mordred is killed by Arthur with a spear and Mordred strikes Arthur in the head
I am sorry for this..
Arthur manages to recover from his injuries and one day he sees a bird. The bird is Mordred with his soul again. At this moment Arthur is overjoyed that Mordred is in someway still with him and even calls him son, which is the one thing Mordred always wanted.
