Man this dry season just won't let up. I haven't been able to plant my usual crops because there is not enough water to sustain them. Usually our climate provides ample rain for our agriculture, but not this season.
Let's see, it's September now, since my community is in the southern hemisphere our dry season should have let up a few weeks ago. In our community the terrestrial features, such as the prarie, are usually ideal for an agricultural based culture such as our own.
Hey, I'm having a really hard time sustaining my family because of this drought.
Me too, my livelihood depends on having crops every year, but with this drought I am starting to worry.
So how are you adapting to these changes.
Well as you can see I am having to sell my livestock to support my family. My crops are not sufficient this year, and have not provided me with enough money.
This is really a shame, farming is the life-blood of our culture.
These droughts aren't new you know, though this is by far the worst drought we have had, we have been getting increasingly less rainfall every year.
I know, this has been one of many season's crops compromised and many years of lowered income. I, partially, blame climate change, even if it is not the main cause of the issue, it is exacerbating these droughts.
