Sophie: "Hey Ann! You seem to be very gay today." Ann: "Oh.. uh... thank you?" Sophie: "No problem! Have you seen our new computer software? Ann: "Yes, unfortunately. It seems to be a bit tricky to use."
Ann: "Well that seems odd. I am not sure as to why Sophie would say that I seemed to be gay today. It is a bit offensive to her to assume my sexuality, considering that I am a straight individual. Maybe I will just ask her about it tomorrow."
Ann: "Hey Sophie, I was thinking about our conversation yesterday and I found it a bit offensive how you just assumed my sexuality." Sophie: "Oh, no! Ann, I had no intentions of assuming your sexuality. I meant that you seemed to look happy. Gay is another word for happy! Ann: "That is so embarrassing. I completely took that the wrong way. I am so sorry for misinterpreting that."
