  • Im Sacagawea, today I was taken from my tribe as a prisoner.
  • Hi, Im Toussaint Charbonneau, and Sacagawea is my wife!
  • In July of 1784, a baby Indian girl was born to chief of a tribe of the Lemhi Shoshone. Her name was Sacagawea.
  • Hi, i'm Meriweather Lewis, my partner, William Clark and I are exploring the new land. We need help interpreting.
  • When Sacagawea was a young teen girl, she was captured during a battle by the Hidatsa Indians.
  • One year later she was sold as a slave to a French Canadian trapper, who made her his wife. His name was Toussaint Charbonneau.
  • Charbonneau became an interpreter for the explores Lewis and Clark, and Sacagawea became a helpful hand in this expedition. The year was 1804.
  • Sacagawea's first baby, Jean Baptiste was born in February of 1805.
  • In 1812 Sacagawea dies at the age of 25. William Clark assumed custody of her son, as well as her daughter, Lisette, and raised her children.
