a long time ago before even "the lord of the rings" series happened, the hobbit began where bilbo baggins is persuaded by gandalf and a group of dwarves to set off on an adventure to steal the riches of a dragon named smaug
unfortunately, poor old baggins regrets his decisions as the adventure progresses after even withstanding terrible weather, trolls, and lack of food and drink.
eventually in their cold and wet adventure, the hobbit and the dwarves, after losing gandalf, find a group of trolls! frankly, soon before even one of the trolls ate any of them, gandalf was using his magic abilities to keep the trolls arguing all night untill the sun came out and turned them to stone
during his adventure, bilbo awakens in a very dark cave, alone with only with the creature named gollum. a hobbit looking creature corrupted by the ring of power, a ring that corrupts any creature, dwarf, or even human. the more powerful the creature, the stronger the effect. this ring was responsible for the next three sequels.
near the end, smaug dies, they successfully robbed the dead dragon, and bilbo was known as a hero, a burrahobbit (by trolls), and took a very long way back home, like how long it took to just get there.
in the end, bilbo is just sitting in his comfortable hobbit hole, talking to gandalf, having a smoke pipe thing. ending the story for bilbo, and eventually would have a son named frodo, who would... wait, this is a hobbit storyboard, not a lord of the rings storyboard. i'll stop talking now
