There was once an egg full of chaos. Inside of it was Pangu.
One day Pangu broke free. The yin inside became the earth while the yang became the heavens.
Pangu held the heavens for 18,000 years. Once he felt that the heavens were high enough, Pangu let go and died in his sleep. His body then formed mountains, rivers, the wind, plants and animals, the sun, and the moon.
Soon, a god named Nangu was not satisfied by the creatures on the Earth and decided to make humans.
She initially handcrafted individuals from wet clay. However, she found an easier method by using drops of wet clay that fell from a rope. Unfortunately, this methods did not create people of the same wealth or intelligence.
Suddenly, the monster Gong-Gong was angered by the humans. He rammed his head into the mountains, causing a hole in heaven and cracks on Earth. The crops were set ablaze and parts were flooded. Nangu patched the hole and died in exhaustion. Her body then formed parts of the Earth too.
