Welcome Interns! I am Dr. Weber and id like to start by saying you guys better start impressing because only one of you will be picked for the solo surgery
Welcome to out hospital this is our newly designed lobby thanks to our sufficient government. I personally like other ways better but that's besides the point.
This is Ava and she just graduated from med school. Next step is her internship at Grey+Sloan Memorial Hospital in Seattle. Through her journey she will experience many conflicts and learn a lot about economy and capitalism along the way.
Don't believe him! We have a say in decisions for the hospital along with help of the government, we do whatever will help our hospital function the best.
Looks like Ava's first day is off to a rough start. Here at the moment Ava learned the principle of competition and that in order to her to survive her internship and impress the residents she had to beateveryone else. This is beneficial because it shows who is the best and who is willing to do more.
Well it's a good thing everyone is entitled to their own opinion isn't it. Okay interns lets move on.
Here Ava learned about the Command Economy and how the government made all of the economic decisions for the hospital even if the staff doesn't personally like them just like Dr. Weber. This economy is beneficial because these decisions can often lead to sufficient outcomes and can attract customers. Now Ava wonders what other economies there are.
Here we have our pharmacy which we control ourselves.
Now Ava understood a new economy: Mixed Economy. This is where the government and individuals make the economic decisions. This is beneficial because it allows more ideas to be put in use and everyone feels involved. Ava also learned that when the nurse said they do whatever to help the hospital function best she was referring to a principle of Profit. This meant that changes were made to help the hospital make more money and attract others.
As Dr. Weber and the nurse finished bickering Ava and the rest of the interns moved on.
Looks like there is still a lot Ava needs to learn. I guess one good thing is that she has learned a new economy: Market Economy. This is where individuals control economic decisions just like the pharmacists decide the prices for medicine and what they will carry at the pharmacy. This is beneficial because they can carry items other places don't have or lower prices which will attract more customers.
