  • Romulus
  • Twins were born to Rhea Silvia (human) and Mars, the Roman god of war. According to a prophecy, the twins would grow up and take their father's throne. The twins were named Romulus and Remus.
  • Mars could not have this so he abandoned his sons. He left them to drown in a nearby river (Tiber river). But a wolf saw them and saved them. He took care of them until they were about 3 years old.
  • Romulus
  • Remus
  • Soon after that, a Shepard adopted them and raised them as his own children.
  • Romulus' wall
  • The men were natural leaders and they wanted to build a city along the river where the wolf saved them.
  •  Romulus and Remus decided to make two separate cities because they could not decide which hill to build on. Romulus built a wall around his city.
  • After Remus climbed over Romulus' wall and made fun of him because it was so easy to get over, Romulus killed his brother Remus and named the city "Rome", after him.
