Storyboard Text

  • Overproduction
  • Variation
  • Environment
  • The two zebras with dominant genes breed and overproduce because some of their offspring won't live because of their predators.
  • Environment
  • 4 out of 9 of their offspring lived. 2 of them have the recessive gene so they are little and 2 of them have the dominant gene. This happened because there was a mution in the genes.
  • Selection
  • A pack of cheetahs are surrounding the area looking for prey while the zebras are looking for something to eat.
  • Differential Reproduction
  • The cheetahs see the big zebras trying to find food. They are waiting for the perfect moment to attack. 2 of the big zebras have died because they hadn't eaten any food.
  • The cheetahs attack and eat all the big zebras because the cheetahs were standing on their "blind side". The big zebras were selected against. The cheetahs didn't see the little zebras because they hid behind the shrubs.
  • The last two little zebras breed and all their offspring have the recessive gene. The little zebras thrive because not as many get eaten by their predators so they reproduce and make a bigger population.
