  • They were given the roles of guards and prisoners. The prisoners were stripped from their identity and the guards took control treating the prisoners as if they were in a real prison.

  • The guards followed their roles harassing prisoners to so much extent that the experiment had to be ended within 6 days. Prisoners rebelled against guards and became depressed and anxious.
