As a child, Lizabeth was the oldest child. She had a little brother named Joey who was very adventurous. Lizabeth hung out with Joey a lot. And she sometimes had a hard time controlling her anger, like when she pulled out the flowers.
Lizabeth, Joey, and another boy decide to pass the time by going to Ms. Lotties house to taunt her. Once they get there, they take peebles, and throw them at the marigolds, causing them to break off. This makes Ms. Lottie very angry, and the kids run away in terror. That night in bed, Lizabeth feels very guilty.
After hearing her parents argue, Lizabeth decides to wake up Joey, and go to Ms. Lotties. While at Ms. Lotties, Lizabeth tears out all the marigolds in anger. After ignoring Joey's warnings, she relizes that Ms. Lottie is standing right over her, watching the whole scene unfold. That was the last time Lizabeth made such a terrible, childish mistake.
