  • Early Life
  • Francisco Franco was born on December 4th, 1892 in El Ferrol, Spain. He was born at the Costal City Naval Center.
  • History Contribution
  • Franco's father was an officer of SNAC. He was very eccentric, wasteful, and dissolute. He was not very close to his father and was close to his mother. His mother was a very conservative Roman catholic. Franco's family life was not very happy.
  • Church
  • Franco was much more disciplined and serious than other boys his age. At the age of 14, he went to the Infantry Academy. His family had 4 generations of men that went into the navy but he went into the army.
  • Death
  • With help of the Nazi Germany and facist Italy, his national forces took down the 2nd Republic.
  • Franco, leader of the rebellious Nationalist forces, declared the Spanish Civil War over. The Catholic Church was the institution that most benefitted from this Franco quickly abolished all those Republican measures that had undermined the Church’s spiritual and social roles, and entrusted it with more power and freedom.
  • Franco died on November 20. 1975 due to several severe heart attacks. At his funeral, many people did the Fascist Salute.
