  • Japan Colonization & Imperialism 
  • We need to expand Japan if we want the main power of the world we need to colonized other countries 
  • U.S. Oil and Steel Embargo on Japan 
  • We have gotten a letter from the U.S. saying they wont trade steel and oil with us anymore
  • Pearl Harbor, Hawaii & The Surprise Attack 
  • Japan wanted to be the most powerful so they tried to invade other countries to gain land and make their empire bigger.
  • Moving the Japanese 
  • So it looks like this is our new home.
  • The U.S. didn't want to trade oil or steel with Japan anymore 
  • FDR "Date Which Will Live In Infamy"
  • Date which will live in infamy.
  • On December 7, 1941 Pearl Harbor was attacked by Japan. Within 2 waves there was 360 Japanese planes that dropped bombs. They sank 18 ships and they killed 2,403 people and 1,178 were wounded.   
  • Apology Letter
  • October 1, 1988
  • After the attack the Japanese that lived in america were moved to other places because they were worried that Japan would attack again.
  • On December 8, 1941 Franklin D. Roosevelt made a speech about the attack on Pearl Harbor.
  • On October 1st, 1988 the us sent out an apology letter to Japan.
  • On behalf of the U.S. I would like to apologize for sending the Japanese-Americans to Concentration camps
