Mexico welcomed large numbers of American immigrants they did this because Texas was sparsely populated. But if the Americans wanted to move in they had to learn Spanish and become Catholic.
Battle of Alamo
He also overthrew the Constitution and appointed himself as dictator .The new dictator was Santa Anna. Santa Anna ordered the Mexican military to begin disarming the Texans whenever possible.
Battle of San Jacinto
This is our land now!
The Mexicans gave the Texans a spiked cannon but they didn't know it was spiked. They came to get it the Texans said "come and take it" then they fired and everyone fled. The significance was there were 18 men against an army
Texas Satehood
A group of volunteer soldiers occupied Alamo. This was a struggle for independence and they won.
Give Us Independence
This battle only lasted 20 minutes. But Mexico would never regain the lost territory.
Texa's Statehood happened on December 19 1845. It didn't work all the time.
