"Are we home yet?" "No" "How far are we from the house?" "Well, we are about eight kilometers away""how long will that take?"
To be honest, I really don't know. Let's ask someone.
If I wanted to know how many minutes I was from the house, how could I figure it out?
Well, when you are 8 kilometers from your house and 15 minutes into the drive you have to find a rate of change. Where were you at 10 minutes?
First you must find slope which in the this case -.6/1 which means -.6 minutes for every 1 km.
Oh, that makes sense, but how did you do that?
m= y2-y1/x2-x1= slope so basically your second independent variable - your first independent variable.
So your saying for every 5 minutes we have traveled we have traveled 3 kilometers? So we would be home in about 29 minutes.
