Storyboard Text

  • Mom, I’m tired of school.
  • Sean! What's the matter son, why are you fed up with school?
  • you know educational benefits is just one of the functions of school right ?... You understand that school functions to help you socialize and social integration, social placement and it helps with cultural innovation. (University of the West Indies 2018)
  • Why?... Why do teachers have to teach off of a boring syllabus? Teaching us things that no one is going to use in the future. No one wants to know the use of pythagoras theorem and definitely don’t ask me to find ‘x’.... There is an app for that!
  • Innovation! There is nothing innovative about school it's the same thing from back in grandma day all they doing is preparing people for some expired job that not available any way. I believe education just promotes social inequality. If you born with certain skills you get more attention and a greater opportunity to use those skills. But you see persons without those skills coming natural, too bad there is little hope for you you can develop back of the class for you. All education really dose is perpetuate the preexisting class structure.
  • Yes that also true and the belief of the Marxist and the conflict theorist. But since we are looking at all the functions of education, you should know that the Interactionist believe that education helps with the development of gender roles….
  • the information is there, but the truth is I want to be a blogger and vlogger. I can earn my own income by means of creating content that's relevant and informative and not to forget funny. Too bad secondary school in Trinidad doesn't teach those skills. They so focused on promoting math and grammar that the forget that life exist outside of that.  They continuously blatantly discriminate and forever differentiate between the “good” and the “bad” students. Imagine my best friend is forced to sit in the back of the math class because he doesn’t pick up concepts as fast as I do. But he is a brilliant designer and and awesome athleath. The discrimination is unreal.
