Principle #1: Genetic Variation In the seal population, there are some seals with the skin color of aqua blue while, there are some seals with the skin color of cloud grey. The mutation has been passed down and inherited from generations and generations, ( the mutation being the aqua blue skin color).
Principle #2: Overpopulation & the struggle for existence The seals with cloud grey skin are easier for predators, such as killer whales, to see than aqua blue seals. Causing cloud grey seals to die. Seals with the aqua blue skin are able to reproduce and pass the traits of aqua blue skin to their offspring. The killer whales is the cause for the cloud grey colored whales' struggle for existence.
Principle #3: Differential survival & reproduction Aqua blue colored seals reproduced way more then the cloud grey seals that were being eaten by the killer whales. Then those offspring carry the trait and now have that advantage helping them live long enough to reproduce. then passing the trait down to generations and generations.
Principle #4: Changes in the Gene Pool Every new generation will have a higher percentage of aqua blue skin than cloud grey skin. Each generation should slowly decrease in cloud grey seals.
