Storyboard Text

  • Many immigrants who emigrate are unhappy and feel unsafe in their own country. They might be experiencing poverty, persecution, violence, and unemployment to the point that the only road to survival and a possible future would be to emigrate to a country of freedom and opportunity.
  • They often dream and imagine a different future. A future of the opportunity to get a proper education. A future of various employment opportunities and a future with freedom from political, social, and religious persecution.
  • Once they know where they want to go for a better future, they set out on the immigration journey. Differing from country to country leave ones native country may be easier or more difficult. But with the vision of freedom and opportunity, they are determined to overcome obstacles in their way.
  • To move to another country that is very different from one's native country, most of their reputation and identity has to be left behind. When arriving to America, one must start over. One's undocumented experience cannot be used in America. Which results in long hours and low paying jobs for immigrants that require no experience.
  • Even though it may seem that immigrants may not have all opportunities open to them at the start. Countries like America often do offer a chance to build one's reputation through experience and education, to be able to reach their potential future. Immigrants coming to America also have a great amount of freedom in religion and opportunities in education.
  • With years and years of experience and education, an immigrant can reach their future that they envisioned. Even though this may require immense work and effort, they continue to go on with the hopes of achieving their dreams. In addition, most immigrants believe that hardwork will pay off in the future.
