This compromise sucks. The South still has a chance to add slave states. Also, it could expand slavery.

I think its really good that Congress has the power to do that. Any other way wouldn't work.

Hey Bob! This new Missouri Compromise wouldn't end slavery and just provoke it.
They wanted to ban slavery and were competing over western lands. Many northerners wanted to ban slavery and it would upset the balance of free and slave states, until Maine was granted statehood. It also gave them a chance to add more slave states.
