Welcome to the Colosseum where not only gladiators fight but where wild beasts are hunted for fun and where free food is sometimes served!!!!!
If you did not know the Colosseum was originally called the Flavian Amphitheater. It was funded by the spoils of war and started construction in 70bc.
There are 36 of theses little trapdoors, just like the one beside me! They were used for special effects. This giant arena has a capacity of 55,000 spectators, thats a lot!! This is the first stone amphitheater and is the most popular site of gladiator games. Now if you'll please excuse me I have to ask someone to clean the helmet I found on the floor.
SOMEONE CLEAN THIS UP!!!
