I am The Lord your God and I am here to command you to go and save my chosen people, the Israelites, from slavery in Egypt.

When Moses was wondering in the wilderness, he saw a bush that was on fire but not burning. He approached the bush and heard God's voice. God told Moses who He is and ordered Moses to help the Israelites to escape from slavery in Egypt and lead them to the Promised Land which is a land that God gave them.
We want our independence back!
Moses died after 40 years of leading the Israelites to the Promise Land. Joshua then led them. When they arrived at the Promised Land, there were other people that were living there, which is the Canaanites, so they had fight to win over the Canaan, which is the Promised Land. After they won the battles, they decided to make their own King and their first king was Saul.
Many years later after the Jews decided to have their own king, the Kingdoms were conquered by the Assyrian Empire and then were conquered by the Chaldeans again. As the Kingdoms were destroyed by the battle between the empires and Jews, the Jews were forced to move to Babylon. More than 40 years later, as the Persians defeated Babylonians, King Cyrus allowed the Jews to return to their homes.
Mother, What's happening? Why do we need to leave our home?

The Kingdoms Israel and Judah were conquered by the Greek Empire and renamed it Palestine. As the Jews wanted independence, they rebelled against the Greek and named the battle as the Maccabean War and they succeed the battle. This war is now known as Hanukkah in Jewish Holiday.
After Greeks conquered Israel and Judah, which was renamed as Palestine, The Roman came and fought a battle with the Greeks. The Romans won the battle and became the ruler of Palestine. The Jews then rebelled against the Roman Empire again and was led by the groups Zealots. However, the did not succeed this time.
Jews had been experiencing many difficulties with their freedom, and this includes the Holocaust which happen in 1933 to 1945. The Holocaust caused many Jews to face hardships and approximately 6 million Jews had died during the time. The Jews struggled very much to get their freedom back and to live a peaceful life.
