  • CH.2 THE EYES OF ECKLEBURG
  • The green light represents Gatsby's vision that he lives for and strives for. This symbolism is important because it shows Gatsby's true emotions and determination.
  • CH.8 THE HOUSE OF WRECKS
  • The weather represents Gatsby's emotions while at Nick's house waiting for daisy to arrive. This is important moment because Gatsby and Daisy finally meet after five years.
  • CH.2 THE VALLEY OF ASHES
  • The eyes are all seeing and see all the lies betrayal and actions of others. This symbol is important because they are the eyes that see all wrongs of the characters in the book and the world.
  • CH.7 TENSIONS HEATING UP
  • The house of wrecks represents the dirt the lies, the betrayal, and the cheating. This is important because this is inside Gatsby's house and it expresses how in this chapter everything is going wrong and it's a mess.
  • The valley of ashes represents the line between the struggles of the poor and the rich which really makes you realize how hard gatsby  worked and was determined to become who he is for daisy.
  • In this scene the heat of the weather represents the tensions and the pent up anger and secrets coming out. This is important because many things are being revealed and its the climax of the book.
