  • Look husband! It is our baby boy! I am going to name him Henry Beauclerc
  • Yorkshire, 1068
  • Hopefully he will be a good writer but he will never become King he will probably become a bishop
  • I now pronounce you husband and wife!
  • They said I wouldn't become King
  • I will invade him later...
  • Henry was born in 1068 but his date of birth was unknown. His father was William the Conqueror and he was his fourth son.

  • On the 11th of November 1100, he married Matilda, who was the daughter of Malcolm III of Scotland. This gave him instant access to the throne of England
  • This is my daughter, Matilda, and she will be my heir to the throne!
  • In the same year, he became King, even though everybody thought he wouldn't. In 1102, his wife had a daughter who they named Matilda

  • In July 1101, Richard had formed an army and unexpectedly landed at Portsmouth on 20th July. They agreed on the treaty of Alton which said that Robert owned Normandy band Henry owned England. Henry later invaded Normandy and put Richard in prison.
  • Henry was worried about who would succeed him to take the throne of England. He considered Stephen of Blois but when his daughter's husband died, he announced that she would be his succesor.. Many of the barons were very unhappy about this
  • In late 1135, Henry fell ill from eating a large amount of lampreys (eels) against his doctors wishes. He died on 1 December 1135 and was buried at Reading Abbey.
