  • Macbeth hallucinates a dagger in front of him before he goes on to kill King Duncan
  • "Is this a dagger which I see before me, the handle toward my hand?"
  • Macbeth returns sobbing from killing King Duncan. Lady Macbeth then criticizes Macbeth for being upset about the murder
  • "These deeds much not be thought after these ways; so, it will make us mad"
  • The porter lets the nobles walk in to wake King Duncan, he is found dead and murdered.
  • "Oh horror! horror! horror! Tongue nor heart cannot conceive nor name thee
  • Donalbain and Malcom decide to flee separately to England and Ireland for safety
