In the end, I learned so much from this class and now I really enjoy a good story that forces you to ask questions, develop your own thoughts and leaves you with something you can takeaway from the book and apply to your own day to day life. I used to take novels and stories at face value, but now I have been taught to look deeper into thetext and find the undisclosed details that aren’t explicitly stated by the author. This has changed my entire view of fictional narratives, even when Iwatch movies now, I pick up on so many more details that I didn’t before. I can predict upcoming events because I understand how a good story is told. The downside to this is I feel disappointed after a lot of the movies I watch, because I’m not satisfied with the same old washed up Hollywood story lines. I find myself searching for something new and fresh, something that will keep meon the edge of my seat not knowing what is going to happen next. Choosing between getting a little out of every movie I watch or a lot out of only the intriguing well written ones, I’d choose the movies that keep me guessing everytime. To conclude, I can’t thank my university writing professor enough foropening my mind to a whole new way of looking at narratives and story telling ,it’s changed the way I view literature and taught me many things consequently.
