  • After the Napoleonic Wars, the European leaders wanted to restore stability by establishing much of the old order.
  • We are Liberalism and Nationalism, and we are here to prevent the European Leaders from establishing much of the old order!
  • With France's new Provisional Government came universal male suffrage. Universal male suffrage is the right of all males to vote.

  • One thing that happened in 1848 is that France set up its Second Republic. This new government had a single legislative elected by universal male suffrage. Presidents were chosen by universal male suffrage for four years.

  • However, the leaders did not get it because Nationalism and Liberalism were starting to break through.

  • One of the actions that was made by France's new provisional government was to draw up a new Constitution.
  • Let's draw up a new Constitution!
  • With 1848 came revolutions; but those ultimately failed. One of the reasons was because nationalities revolted everywhere and proved disastrous. Another thing was the unity of the revolutionaries had made the revolutions possible.
