  • Take back what you said about the Catholic Church!!
  • No!
  • Martin Luther was struck by lightening on July 2nd 1505 and he told Saint Anne that he would become a monk. He started reading the Bible and discovered places the Church and Bible disagreed with. Martin questioned a lot about what the church was doing and started raising his concerns.
  • I shall write a German translation of the Bible so people who don't know Hebrew can still read it.
  • Martin Luther wrote down 95 theses where he found the Bible and Church disagree and he nailed them to the door of the Wittenberg Church door in 1517. This sparked anger within the Church towards Martin and the church started losing money because other people were realising what the church was doing.
  • Don't leave the church!
  • Let's join the Lutheran or Reformed churches
  • Martin Luther was kicked out of the Catholic Church by the catholic leaders and was called a heretic. The church had ordered Martin to take back his statements, but he didn't. Some friends of Martin's pretend kidnapped him and hid him away until all the anger and danger had passed.
  • Martin Luther wrote a German translation of the Bible so more people could read it. He wrote the reader-friendly Bible with the use of the printing press that was invented in the 1440's. The New testament was published in 1522 and the full translation of the Bible was published in 1534.
  • Martin Luther stared a reformation even though he didn't intend to. Europe started separating from the Catholic Church and they started joining the Lutheran and Reformed churches. Martin continued being a professor of theology at the University of Wittenberg. Many people did agree with Martin Luther and believed the Church had become corrupt.
