Storyboard Text

  • Today the votes have come in. Thomas Jefferson and Aaron Burr have had a tie with 73 electoral votes. We are going to solve this problem by  giving the final vote to the House of Representatives.
  • 1800
  • It has been 6 days and the votes still are unclear. We don't know who the president is... And the House of Reps is all federalist. Alexander Hamiltion is the reason.
  • I mean why wouldn't we vote for Burr?  He seems so nice!
  • Hmm... yeah! And he is a lawyer!! He is probably really smart and thinks of the same views as us!
  • Aaron Burr is different than he looks. He murdered someone and tried to hide it. His stances on any topic are unclear and I would be a better leader.
  • Just because of my old background  information doesn't mean I haven't changed.
  • Hamilton: You should vote for Thomas Jefferson. Now I know we have totally different beliefs and we went against each other in the past, but Aaron Burr is even worse. He shows no political stance on anything. At least you know where Jefferson stands.
  • Thanks to Hamilton, Thomas Jefferson has in fact, won the election! Welcome your new president! Aaron Burr is the new vice president.
