Claire: I am an explorer and I have a time travel machine! Danielle: Oh my gosh! Can we go back to Ancient Egypt!? Claire: Yeah sure!! Danielle: In social studies, we are learning about that. My favorite type of people are artisans. Claire: OK, lets go!
Danielle: They also carved in the walls. Claire: Why? Danielle: I think so they could leave a mark and for later Egyptians and they can tell future people about things. Claire: That makes sense. That is important because they need to leave warnings. Danielle: yeah.
Danielle: Woah! Look at those temples! Did you know that the artisans made those? Claire: Yes actually. They built them to honor gods they believed in. They are so important, they have guards. Danielle: Wow, so cool.
Danielle: Did you know that they carved out designs in stone coffins? Claire: No I didn’t know that actually. Danielle: Well, not you do. Claire: True. Didn’t they do that in LOTS of detail? Danielle: Yes. LOTS of detail. Claire: Cool.
Claire: Artisans did all kinds of artwork such as metalworking, painters, pottery, carpenters, and jewelers. Danielle: Claire you forgot about sculptors, leather workers, and weavers. Claire: oh yeah! Thanks! Do you know why those are important? Danielle: Yes. They are important because they built a variety of things. They made Egypt feel less empty. 100.2

Claire: OK Danielle, it’s time to go back to present time. Danielle: OK. Thanks, that was fun! Claire; Your’e welcome! *they go back to present day* Danielle: You know, the artisans are like the student council here. Important but not important. Claire: And scribes were like teachers. They both had to learn a lot! Danielle and Claire : Yay!
