In my opinion, the best thing to do is for you all to talk about your cultural differences and solve whatever miscommunication is going on. This pageant aims to connect people with different cultures together and bind them as one. If a misunderstanding like this is happening, how are we going to establish an intercultural communication and relationship with each other? I'll leave for you guys to fix this.
To clear out everything, I wasn't picking my nose. In Scotland, it means to keep something a secret.
It's alright, Clarissa.
I apologise for offending you, Pola. I didn't think it was part of your culture.
I'm sorry, Mariana, for thinking highly of my cultural dress than yours. I should've thought about the fact that we have different cultures.
I do understand, Pola. We come from different cultures and we can't avoid comparisons.
I also want to clear out that I wasn't laughing at you, Mariana. In Myanmar, we laugh in order to lighten up the mood or remove the awkwardness. I apologise.
No worries, La Zul. It's part of your culture, so I understand.
Thank you, Ms. Louise.
So, I can see that you, ladies, have already settled your differences. Just always remember that each one of us belongs to a culture that may differ from our own so it's best to be sensitive of others' cultures and respect them in order for you to establish intercultural communication.
