Storyboard Text

  • A Shirts journey begins here in the Mississippi delta Where the cotton is picked by  tractors.
  • MISSISSIPPI
  • INDONESIA
  • Next the cotton travels to Indonesia where it is sent to spinning factories that turn the cotton into yarn with a long and repetitive process.
  • After being turned into yarn the cotton now yarn is shipped to Bangladesh where it is  dyed and turned into fabric.
  • BANGLADESH
  • Next the fabric is sent to Columbia and it is sewn together by workers in Columbia.
  • COLUMBIA
  • After the shirt is made the shirt is packaged in big crates and in large quantities in Columbia and is shipped to places like the US by boat.
  • COLUMBIA
  • YOU
  • The shirt finally arrives here in stores where us as consumers can go and buy but before it got here it had to go through a long and hard process that could not have been done alone.  Without the farmer there would be not cotton, without the workers Columbia -->
  • The fabric would have never been turned into a shirt and if any of the roles that where shown here did not do there part there would be no product in this case no shirt.  But because of globalization all this and more can happen we work together to make goods and help each other out and it also helps us as people stay connected to one another and every role plays a big part. The next time you pick out a shirt think of the group of people that made that shirt in your hand possible and think of the long journey that shirt took just to be in your hands.
