We've just got married
I will never betray my husband
I was so in love...
I know how to help him!
Dorigen and Arveragus have just got married and they have promised each other that their marriage will be of equal status.
Arveragus went on a journey and left Dorigen all alone. Dorigen had a party at which a young squire had attended. Aurelius, the young squire, declared his love for Dorigen but Dorigen told him thet she would never betray Arveragus. Dorigen said that she promised she would marry him if he made the black rocks on the beach dissappear.
Aurelius was very sad and he told his brother everything. His brother told him that he knew a magician. So they went to visit him. The magician would make the rocks dissappear in exchange for 1000 pounds. Aurelius agreed.
They went back and the magician made the rocks dissappear. Dorigen was very surprised and very sad at the same time because she was very confused. She went home and cried.
Dorigen was so confused about what to do that she was thinking about committing suicide. Arveragus came in the moment and saw his wife so sad that he told her to not break her promise and marry Aurelius.
Dorigen had met up with Aurelius. On her way she bumped into Aurelius and told him what Arveragus had said. Aurelius responded that she didn't have to marry him because she was suffering too much. Dorigen went home and lived happily with Arveragus. Aurelius still owed the magician 1000 pounds. The magician told him that he had done it for love and for that reason Aurelius didn't have to pay him.
