As supreme king, I decree that all power shall go to me!
Types of government
HAHAHA. I love monarchies. We have so much power!
Geography and government
This bridge took way to long to build. This lake sure is large.
A unitary system of government gives all of the power to the national government, or central government. A unitary system can have states/provinces, but gives them little power. A federal system spreads the power between different states or provinces.
Autocracy: One person or a small group have complete control over a country Monarchy: A king/queen inherits most power Oligarchy: A small group has all of the power Theocracy: A religious oligarchy Democracy: A leader who is consented apon by the people.
Governments are influenced by geography greatly. The government must consider the culture they rule, such as their religion. the geography effects the infrastructure, such as bridges and roads and where buildings can be. you have to build around natural boundaries.
There are cultural boundaries which are things like language and religion, which can make people unable to communicate, or they can cause arguements about what they believe. There are also geometric boundaries. When people draw boundaries for countries, if they don't account for certain natural landforms, such as mountains or lakes, and then no one knows who owns them. Then there are political boundaries, which are ones drawn up by nations.
Nationalism, or patriotism, can create conflicts when everyone thinks their country is the best. Terrorism, or to inspire terror, is also a world conflict.
Two types of cooperation are treaties and national organizations, and help to resolve conflicts. An example of an international organization is the UN.
