Manor Farm is owned by an angry alcoholic farmer named Mr. Jones. On the farm the Oldest Pig named Old Major calls all the animals on the farm together to speak of a vision he had. he visioned that animals would rule the farm on the own without human control. He uses the song Beasts of England to bring the Animals together.
The animals take over the farm. they begin to read and write and come up with their own Animalism commandments. Food is plentiful and everyone is happy. However, their are underlying disputes between Napolean and Snowball.
Pigs will stay inside, sleep in beds, and get all the better food!
Napolean uses dogs he trained to chase Snowball off the farm. He slowly begins to change how the farm is ruled and gives all the power to the pigs. Napolean quickly becomes a supreme ruler, giving unfair advantages to pigs, and changes the commandments to favor the pigs.
Napolean begins spreading rumors, and accusing others of working with Snowball. He answers with brutally killing a large amount of the animals on the farm. The remaining animals are left sad and broken.
It is clear that this is not how the animals had envisioned their revolution. They had no food, were worked to exhaustion, and taken advantage of. Boxer the horse collapses, and is taken away to the slaughter house.
It is apparent that certain animals have become more equal than others. The pigs have become such supreme rulers that it has gone to their head. They begin acting like humans by drinking and walking on two legs.
