The animals of the Manor Farm have been plotting to rebel against Mr. Jones, and they finally run him off the farm so they can run it themselves, as "Animal Farm."
The pigs take it upon themselves to be leader and come up with seven commandments that all animals shall live by including: no animal shall wear clothes, no animal shall kill any other animal, all animals are equal, and a few more.
Four legs good, two legs bad
The animals join in the barn for meetings to discuss plans for the farm, etc. Napoleon and Snowball constantly argue and Snowball announces his idea for a windmill.
Napoleon orders for vicious dogs to attack and chase Snowball off the farm. After, Napoleon turns all animals against Snowball calling him a traitor.
The pigs begin to break their own commandments by taking more food, working less than all the other animals, living in the house, and sleeping in beds. The animals work hard for food for themselves, and start building the windmill.
After a storm, the animals find the windmill toppled over. Napoleon instantly blames Snowball and sends him to death once found.
